Birth Control Pills and Dieting

Hello Ladies.. How's your journey going? Had SEVERAL bumps in the road? Dont worry, so have I!  Im still working towards my goal. This particular blog is dedicated to all the ladies out there on BC and dieting.

Many people claim that birth control doesn't cause weight gain and others say that it does. I know from experience that birth control can cause a huge increase in appetite. They also often lead to water retention as well.  The obvious solution to overcoming the possibility of  gaining weight is, of course, exercise, buts face it, most of us like to eat! My solution is to simply keep healthy snacks around when a craving hits you. If chocolate is your down fall, buy Quaker Chocolate crunch rice cakes. There only 60 calories so you shouldn't feel too bad for indulging.  You could also drizzle two tablespoons of chocolate syrup over a half a cup of sliced strawberries. Honestly, that is one of my favorite choices.  If neither of those does it for you, maybe try a bowl of whole grain chocolate flavored cereal. Its not exactly the healthiest choice but Its not the worse you can do when breaking the rules of a diet.

But remember ladies, if you are severely , you will have the will power of a god and the end result will be a body of a goddess!  Cant wait until this journey is complete!

Getting that Flat stomach of a Goddess

Hey lovelies.. How are you? Well I'm a little on the tired side( being that it is finals week: summer edition). Anyways Im finally seeing the results tht i've been wanting to see! My stomach is getting flatter and I am sooooooo thrilled. My trick to a flatter stomach is WATER and lots of it.

A way that you can transition into drinking more water is by drinking 8 oz. of water before each meal.  Cutting out sodas and fruit juices altogether will definitely be beneficial in losing weight and obtaining that body of a goddess.

Another thing you must do to get a flatter stomach is to LIMIT your sodium intake. Put that salt shaker down! Also, try to eat smaller meals. Big meals put a lot of stress on the digestive system!

Eat lots of fiber and consume a diet high in fruits, veggies, and whole grains.

Here comes the harder part for some... the exercise part!

CARDIO CARDIO & MORE CARDIO!!

I would suggest  doing high intensity workouts so you get ur heart rate up and burn a many calories a you can. 30 minutes a day, 3-5 times a week is what's suggested on most blog sites; however, I'm not that fit yet and I can get a bit lazy. What I have started to do is several FREE high intensity, short cardio workouts offered by FitnessBlender.com and a few other channels on Youtube. I usually do a 17-minute video or a 10 minute video depending on my schedule.  I also love to do Zumba. :)

Im going to keep up with this routine for about 2 weeks and then check the results.

Worlds Worst Blogger = Jayye

Okay.. I know I know. I absolutely SUCK at blogging. I just get so busy with school and being a mommy that blogging often skips my mind but I decided to post today. Hopefully some of you out there still read my posts.

I've been doing diets && such and cant seem to stick to them like I should, so my progress isnt as dramatic as I had wanted it to be. Also I've had problems in losing weight too fat which can cause stretch marks soo ladiess, be cautious of how fast you lose weight. I've been also doing my research on body types and how to get a smaller waist and I came across some thing called "waist training" and I'm going to try it out for a while.

I heard that alot of models do corsetry to achieve smaller waists and more hourglass figures without having some kind of surgery.

I received my corset today && im really excited to get started. Keep in mind that if you want to try this method, you should research about it to make sure its for you.

I'm going to post pictures of my updated body soon so you guys wont think im not really trying to get that body of a goddess!

Oh yeah, update on the exercises I've been doing: I've fell in love with Zumba. Its so fun! I alternate days of Zumba with days of short high intensity cardio workouts. I also still do my leg and glute exercises from previous posts to keep my butt looking right! Also, I've been eatting at least 2 raw veggies before eact meal and I drink 2- 3 liters of ice cold water a day (which is soooo hard).

Wells thats all folks!

Long Time...No see!

Hello ladies! It's been a while. Hopefully everybody has been working out and staying active. Its been a busy few weeks for me and I'm pretty sure all of you have been busy as wel. I've had school to deal with as well as my beautiful daughter. However, I pretty much hit the gym every weekday and I stay active. I have a few confessions tho. Im always honest with you guys so I'll tell you kow things have been going for me: Here goes....

Confession #1: I for the most part have been avoiding meat all together bt for my daughters birthday party and occasions such as that, I have slipped up! However, I've been working out extra hard when ever I do slip up.

Confession #2: My motivation level isnt as high as it was at the beginning of January. I know its kinda bad bt in a way it its great. I have a new guy and he likes me just the way I am. So basically my self esteem is higher so my attitude about my way is better.

Even tho my confessions are kind of bad, I still want you guys to know that I am only human && we all slip up! However, I will go grocery shopping in a bit && will stock my fridge with fresh fruits and veggies and, my favorite, Smart Water! For the next 2 weeks im going to go extra hard and I will plan to do another Vlog showing my progress thus far! If any of you ladies have been following the blog or just would like any tips or suggestions, comment below or email me!

I've also learned that green coffee bean really does boost your metabolism if ur interesting in using a weight loss aid!

Until next time,

Bump in the Road

Hello vixens! How are you? Unfortunately today has not been one of my finer days. It started out pretty good. I had a full morning of class. I wasn't very hungry because I have been drinking protein shakes for breakfast. I recommend the strawberry banana flavored one, it's pretty good. there were two things that got me down today but one stemmed from the other. First, I really wanted to get out of the house and go to this kickboxing group fitness class. None of my friends wanted to go sooooo, I didnt go either because it was at night and I definitely didn't want o go to the gym alone at night. So while at home, I began to think..and when i think, i usually over think so I ended up thinking about the guy who broke my heart. Ugh... I was sad for a few hours, but i got over it.

What really sucks is I didn't get to go to that kickboxing class!

Anyways my ladies, I hope you guys have watched my Vlog because I actually showed my body so that you guys could see what I'm starting from to hopefully achieve that perfect video vixen body. I've had some great encouragement from alot of you guys and I like to give a special thanks to my young vixen, Drea. You ladies help keep me motivated.

On another note......

Monday, I went to the gym and I did an hour long workout on the elliptical. It was hard, but afterwards i felt wonderful. I would suggest using the elliptical because it targets the glutes, thighs, inner thighs, and hamstrings depending on how you set the machines resistance and crossfit. Tomorrow, plan to do the same and maybe add 30 minutes on the treadmill. Next post, I plan to post some more exercises targeting the booty.

Just a few reminders,  drink lot's of water, it really helps you to loose weight. I've also read that eating lots of raw fruits and veggies before meals can help you also.Over all just stay active!

Lights? Camera! Action!

Sooo.. I've been meatless for a total of 10 days but I haven't been able to workout as planned. (Definitely not stepping on a scale this week!)

Anyways, I've noticed that I have alot of readers, but not many of you have actually responded and let me know if you're taking the challenge with me?? Is there anyone out there trying to get the perfect video vixen body besides me? Hmmmm... maybe people will want to do it once I'm done and if that's the case more power to you, but I'll be finished at the perfect time... SPRING and SUMMER time, baby !!

In all seriousness tho, I really feel like I have something to prove. After being put down by a person that I was in love with for almost 3 years, I find my self motivated to show them what they are missing out on.  I'm thinking about doing a video blog along with my posts (hence, the post title..lol) so that you will be able to see my actual body because I never seem to get around to actually posting pictures.

That's really all I have to talk about tonight. Oh yeaaaaaah, I just remembered. Did anybody by the DVD I was talking about?? If not i suggest you do! That Jillian is a killer!

Anyways... never forget ladies, you are beautiful just the way you are, but if YOU (not anybody else), aren't happy with what you see, you might as well try this challenge with me!
Toodles.. :-)

Motivation and Drive

Hello my faithful readers. I'm going through a lot right now so I haven't been as active a I should have been these past few days; however, I am hitting the gym early in the morning to get a good workout. I finally found one that has a daycare.

Some might be wondering what's bothering me and some might not care but I'll just say I'm heartbroken, but it happens to the best of us. I'm just going to use these feelings of hurt, fear, and sadness to fuel my workout and to push me to reach my goal. This heartbreak has definitely affected my self esteem, so at the end of this challenge, whatever the outcome, I'm looking to find myself. To regain control of how I see myself and to fall in love with the way I look are all thing that Im hoping to accomplish when these 120 days are up.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one going through right now. So if you are, you can use whatever's bothering you as motivation. Having something driving you will give you the push that you need too dig in and take this challenge. What are you looking to accomplish?

Until Next time...

Completely Meatless!

Ladies! What's up? I'm proud to say that these past two days have been completely meatless and full of exercise. Well, actually its been three days because I started the challenge a day early so that my exercise schedule would be right. I've actually started doing the Jillian DVD which is really kicking my butt. I will honestly say that i haven't been doing all the exercises and I'm definitely still on level one. I'm not discouraged, but it does show me that I have a loooooooooooong way to go. I've also been doing pushups and jogging. I think that my main challenge will be drinking lots of water, which is very IMPORTANT! I'm really a juice and fruity drink type of girl, but I shall push myself to drink water.

I've also remeasured myself: waist: 34in hips: 48.5 in

I really need to push myself these next three months to get the perfect waist to hips ratio that video vixens have.. (if its possible by exercises alone). Hopefully there are some ladies out there who really want to have that incredible body just as bad as I do! If so, let me know! I still have received no emails or information about ladies wanting to take this challenge! If you know anyone who might be interested, share this blog before they get too far behind!

Anyways, as stated in previous blogs, I said that I would list some exercises that targeted the glutes. I decided that I would post two to three exercises every other post.

Butt Lift (source: bodybuilding.com)
  1. Lie flat on the floor on your back with the hands by your side and your knees bent. Your feet should be placed around shoulder width. This will be your starting position.
  2. Pushing mainly with your heels, lift your hips off the floor while keeping your back straight. Breathe out as you perform this part of the motion and hold at the top for a second.
  3. Slowly go back to the starting position as you breathe in.
Variations: You can perform this exercise one leg at a time.

 Kickback (source: shapefit.com)
  1. Get on your hands and knees on a mat on the floor with your back parallel to the ground. In a controlled motion, thrust one of your feet backwards as though you are kicking like a   horse. Be sure to really flex your butt for a one-count when your leg is fully extended back behind you. Return to the start position and repeat with the opposite leg.
  2.  While maintaining a 90-degree bend in your right knee, extend your right leg up behind you by hinging at your hip. Lower your leg back down and repeat until you have exhausted the muscles. Switch sides and repeat the process with your left leg. Make sure to keep your hips in-line with the floor during the kickback movement. Your legs should go high enough so that your thigh muscles are parallel with the floor.
Variations: Add an ankle weight to make the exercise harder. Don’t lift the leg as high to make the workout easier.

Add these exercises into your workout and let me know how it goes.  I may also be adding recipes to  spice up the meatless diet.

Until next time,

xoxoxo Jayye
